Privacy Policy — Vaultlens

Effective 10 July 2026 · Vaultlens for iOS · Joseph Heaton · support@joeheaton.com

Vaultlens runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. It has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and makes no network connections. The contents of your vaults never leave your iPhone.

What Vaultlens accesses

When you add a vault, iOS asks you to pick a folder (typically in iCloud Drive). Vaultlens stores a secure bookmark so it can re-open that folder later. It reads file metadata (names, sizes, modification dates, folder structure) and — only when you use a deep-scan feature — the text of Markdown notes, to compute statistics locally, on your device. File contents are never uploaded or transmitted, because the app has no network capability at all.

What Vaultlens collects

Nothing. There is no account system, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and have no way to see how you use the app.

Subscriptions

Vaultlens offers an optional Pro subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Vaultlens never sees your name, payment card, or Apple ID — it only receives an anonymous flag indicating whether your subscription is active. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you enable reminders (stale-vault nudges, milestone alerts, streak reminders, weekly digest), these are local notifications scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

Data sharing

None. No data is shared with, or sold to, any third party — because no data is collected in the first place.

Children

Vaultlens is safe for users of all ages. Because it collects no personal data, it complies with children's privacy regulations (including COPPA and GDPR-K) by design.

Your rights

Since Vaultlens holds no data about you on any server, there is nothing to request, export, or delete on our side. Removing the app from your device removes everything it stored locally (your vault bookmarks and cached scan results). Your actual vault files are untouched.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
